Back-to-school season is a hidden goldmine for cleaning services. Parents are busier than ever, routines are shifting, and commercial clients…offices, daycares, schools…are ramping up their cleaning needs. When these people search for a cleaning service, your Google Business Profile is usually the first thing they see. Let’s make it count.
Update Your Services List for the Season
Google Business Profile lets you list specific services. Make sure yours includes everything you offer, especially services that spike in August and September: move-in/move-out cleaning (college students and renters), post-summer deep cleaning, back-to-school office cleaning, and daycare sanitization.
Be specific. “Residential deep cleaning” is fine, but “Back-to-school deep clean…kitchens, bathrooms, and kids’ rooms” speaks directly to what a busy San Antonio parent is searching for right now.
Post Weekly About Seasonal Services
Use the Google Business Profile posting feature to promote timely services. Write a new post every week through September:
- “Kids back in school? Reclaim your clean house with our post-summer deep cleaning service.”
- “Office managers…book your fall cleaning schedule now before our slots fill up.”
- “Move-in cleaning for college students near UTSA, Trinity, and the Alamo Colleges. Book today!”
Each post should include a clear photo, 2-3 sentences, and a call to action button (Call, Book, Learn More). Posts expire after seven days, so weekly posting keeps your profile active.
Target Your Photos to the Season
Upload photos that resonate with the current moment. A sparkling clean kitchen. A freshly sanitized classroom. A spotless apartment ready for move-in. Remove or bury any outdated photos that don’t represent your current work quality.
If you’re doing commercial cleaning for local schools or daycares in the NEISD or NISD areas, ask if you can photograph the finished result (without identifying information). Commercial cleaning photos signal to potential business clients that you handle larger jobs.
Respond to Reviews Strategically
During back-to-school season, your reviews become even more important. New clients are making quick decisions…they need a cleaning service now, not next month. A profile with recent positive reviews and thoughtful owner responses wins the click.
Check for any unanswered reviews and respond today. For positive reviews: “Thank you, [Name]! We loved getting your home back-to-school ready. See you next time!” For negative reviews: address the issue directly, apologize, and offer a resolution. Future clients are evaluating how you handle problems just as much as how you handle praise.
Add a “Back-to-School Special” as an Offer Post
Google Business Profile offers an “Offer” post type specifically designed for promotions. Create one with a back-to-school discount: “20% off your first deep clean when you book in August. Use code BACKTOSCHOOL.” Include an expiration date to create urgency.
This offer shows up prominently on your profile and can catch the eye of someone who’s comparing multiple cleaning services in the Stone Oak or Alamo Ranch areas. We covered the full GBP optimization process in our 2024 Google Business Profile checklist for cleaning companies.
Your Profile Works While You Clean
Your Google Business Profile is generating leads 24 hours a day. A few minutes of optimization this week can mean more booked jobs through the entire back-to-school season and into fall. When the holidays arrive, shift your focus to customer retention around Small Business Saturday and keep those seasonal clients coming back year-round.
