Here’s a hard truth for San Antonio professional services firms: your website probably looks fine. It might even look great. But looking great and converting visitors into leads are two very different things.
I’ve reviewed dozens of websites for local accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, and consultants. The same problems show up over and over.
Problem 1: Nobody Knows What You Actually Do
“We provide comprehensive solutions for your business needs.” That sentence says nothing. Visitors to your website want to know, in plain English, what you do and who you do it for. Compare these:
- Vague: “Full-service accounting firm serving the greater San Antonio area”
- Clear: “Tax preparation and bookkeeping for San Antonio small businesses with 1-20 employees”
The second one tells a visitor in Stone Oak or Castle Hills exactly whether you’re the right fit. Specificity builds trust.
Problem 2: Your Contact Form Is Buried
If I have to click through three pages to find a way to contact you, I’m not going to do it. Your phone number should be in the header of every page. Your contact form should be on your homepage…not just your contact page. Add a simple “Schedule a Free Consultation” button that follows the visitor as they scroll.
Problem 3: No Social Proof on the Homepage
People don’t trust businesses. They trust other people. If your homepage doesn’t have at least two or three client testimonials…ideally with names, companies, and photos…you’re asking visitors to take a leap of faith. Most won’t.
Pull your best Google reviews and display them on your homepage. If you have recognizable San Antonio clients who’ve given permission, feature their logos.
Problem 4: Your Site Is Slow on Mobile
Professional services firms often invest in heavy, image-laden websites that look stunning on a desktop but crawl on a phone. Over half your visitors are on mobile. Test your site speed on Google PageSpeed Insights and aim for a score above 70 on mobile. Compress images, minimize code, and cut anything that doesn’t serve the visitor.
Fix These This Month
You don’t need a complete redesign. These are targeted fixes that can dramatically increase the number of leads your website generates. Spend a few hours this month addressing each one, and you’ll see the difference in your inquiry volume.
