July is when many professional services firms in San Antonio hit a natural lull. Tax season is over. Court dockets slow down. Clients are on vacation. Instead of just riding it out, use this time to fix the local SEO problems you’ve been ignoring all year.
The work you do now will pay off when things pick back up in September.
Audit Your Directory Listings
Your firm is listed in more places than you think…Google, Bing, Yelp, Avvo, FindLaw, Clutch, Thumbtack, the BBB, your local Chamber of Commerce. The problem? Half of those listings probably have inconsistent information.
Search your business name and check the top 10 results. Is your address the same everywhere? Is it “Suite 200” in some places and “Ste 200” in others? Is your old phone number still on a listing from 2019?
Consistency across directories is one of the strongest local SEO signals. Spend an afternoon fixing this.
Build Out Location Pages on Your Website
If you serve clients across San Antonio and surrounding areas, you should have pages targeting each area:
- “Business Accounting Services in Stone Oak”
- “Family Law Attorney Serving Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills”
- “IT Consulting for Businesses Along the 281 Corridor”
Each page should have unique content about that area…not just the same copy with a different city name swapped in. Mention local business communities, industry clusters, and specific challenges businesses in that area face.
Get More Google Reviews (Strategically)
The firms that dominate local search results share one thing: lots of recent, detailed Google reviews. During your summer lull, reach out to your best clients and ask for a review. Be specific: “Would you mind sharing your experience working with us on Google? It really helps other San Antonio business owners find us.”
Make it easy by sending a direct link. Most people won’t go looking for your Google profile on their own.
Optimize Your Website’s Technical SEO
Summer is the perfect time for technical housekeeping:
- Fix broken links
- Compress images that slow down page load
- Add alt text to all images
- Update your title tags and meta descriptions
- Make sure every page has a clear H1 heading
- Test your site on mobile
These aren’t glamorous tasks, but they compound. A technically sound website ranks better and converts more visitors.
Write Two or Three Blog Posts
You don’t need to become a publishing machine. Two or three well-written blog posts targeting questions your clients actually ask can drive significant organic traffic. “How much does a business attorney cost in San Antonio?” or “What to look for in a San Antonio CPA for your small business”…these are real queries with real search volume.
Use the Slow Season Wisely
The firms that invest in SEO during quiet months are the ones that show up when things get busy again. Don’t waste your summer. Make sure you’re also retaining the clients you attract.
