As 2024 winds down, most San Antonio home services businesses are busy with holiday-related work…heating repairs, holiday lighting installations, end-of-year remodels. Marketing takes a back seat. But December is actually one of the best months to evaluate your local SEO and set yourself up for January, when the phone needs to ring.
Review Your Google Rankings
Search for the terms that matter most to your business:
- “[Your service] San Antonio”
- “[Your service] near me” (search from your service area)
- “Plumber in [neighborhood]” or “HVAC repair [city]”
Are you in the top three map pack results? Are you on the first page of organic results? If not, note where you stand. This is your baseline for 2025.

Audit Your Review Velocity
How many Google reviews did you collect in 2024? Pull up your profile and count. If you averaged fewer than two reviews per month, you need a better review generation system for 2025.
Look at your competitors too. If the top-ranking plumber in Stone Oak has 350 reviews and you have 45, you know where to focus your energy next year.
Check All Directory Listings
Your business is listed on Google, Bing, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, the BBB, and probably a dozen other directories. Before the year ends, check each one:
- Is your phone number correct?
- Is your address accurate?
- Are your hours updated?
- Are there unanswered reviews?
Inconsistent listings confuse search engines and customers. An hour spent cleaning these up now pays dividends all year. Make sure your Google Business Profile is updated for Fiesta season too, since spring is when many homeowners start searching.
Evaluate Your Website Content
Did you publish any blog posts in 2024? Which ones drove the most traffic? Which ones generated leads? If you don’t know, set up Google Analytics and Search Console (both free) so you can track this in 2025.
If you did publish content, look at what worked and plan more of it. If your “AC Maintenance Checklist for San Antonio Homeowners” drove traffic, write similar seasonal content for every quarter of 2025.
Set Three SEO Goals for 2025
Don’t create a 20-point SEO strategy. Pick three specific, measurable goals:
- Collect 50 new Google reviews by June 2025
- Publish one blog post per month targeting a specific service and neighborhood
- Fix all directory listing inconsistencies by February 2025
