Fall in San Antonio is short but sweet. And for auto shops, it brings a wave of customers who’ve been putting off maintenance all summer. Heater checks, tire inspections before holiday travel, oil changes for road trips to see family.
Your Google Business Profile is where these customers will find you…or won’t. Here’s your fall checklist.
Post About Fall Services
Open your GBP dashboard and write a post right now:
“Fall is here, San Antonio! Time to get your vehicle ready for cooler weather and holiday road trips. We’re offering our Fall Safety Package: oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, and heater check for $XX. Book today!”
Google Posts show up directly on your profile and in search results. They’re free advertising that most auto shops never use.
Post weekly through October and November:
- Week 1: Fall safety package announcement
- Week 2: A before-and-after of a recent repair
- Week 3: A tip…“When to switch to winter-weight oil in San Antonio”
- Week 4: Customer spotlight or review highlight
Add Fall-Specific Services
Update your service list on GBP to include seasonal offerings:
- Heater/defroster inspection
- Battery testing (batteries die more in extreme heat…San Antonio summers are hard on them)
- Coolant system flush
- Brake inspection
- Pre-trip safety check
Each service you list is searchable. Someone looking for “battery testing near me” in October will find shops that list that service over ones that don’t. For more on seasonal service promotion, our spring email marketing guide for auto services shows how to tie seasonal offers to your overall marketing calendar.
Upload New Photos
Autumn might not change the look of your shop much (this is South Texas, after all), but fresh photos still matter:
- Your waiting room looking clean and welcoming
- A tech working on a vehicle
- Your team photo
- Your shop’s exterior (clean, well-lit, professional)
Google favors profiles with recently uploaded photos. A monthly upload habit keeps you ahead of shops that set up their profile in 2019 and haven’t touched it since.
Handle Your Review Backlog
How many reviews have gone unanswered? Check right now.
Go through every review from the last 3 months and respond:
- 5-star reviews: “Thanks for the kind words, David! Glad we could help with your F-150. See you next oil change.”
- 3-star reviews: “Appreciate the feedback. We’re always looking to improve…feel free to reach out directly so we can make it right.”
- 1-star reviews: Respond professionally, acknowledge the issue, and offer to resolve it offline.
Every response shows future customers you care. And it tells Google your business is active. For more on using reviews and GBP to build trust, our guide to auto services GBP in October covers the year-round mindset. And keeping those new customers coming back requires a solid customer retention strategy.
